RATES
Square Inch Price
Quilting Rates:
I charge 2.5 cents per square inch for all designs unless otherwise designated. (High Density designs start at 3 cents per square inch).
Example: A quilt top is 60 inches x 80 inches. 60 x 80 = 4800 x .025 = $120.
Batting is not included. See below for batting rates.
Minimum Charge:
My minimum quilting charge is $50. This means that a small quilt or table runner's square inch price will be rounded up to the $50 minimum charge.
Binding Rate:
Machine Binding is offered for 12 cents per linear inch.
Example: A quilt top is 60 inches x 80 inches.
60+60+80+80 =280 linear inches
280 x .12 =$33.60 for machine binding. Just add the yardage for your binding and I will send your quilt back with the binding fully attached!
I do not charge a set-up fee.
Preparation:
Part of preparing your quilt top for quilting is to properly prepare your backing. Quilt backings much be a total of 10 inches larger than the quilt top. This means, I require an additional 5 inches on each side of the quilt to attach your quilt to the frame and so that I can stitch off the sides to give you an even pattern.
To further clarify, if your quilt top measures 55"x65", the backing must be AT LEAST 65"x75" for quilting.
In addition, if you request me to piece your backing, I do not match fabric on the backing unless specifically requested. Piecing a backing fabric is $15 per seam and if I am requested to match the backing fabric, it is $30 per seam. For those that don't enjoy piecing backings, 108" backing are an amazing choice and they save you time and money!
Quilt tops will be serged with a narrow hem on all four sides once received. This is done to ensure the borders and seams do not pull apart during the quilting process.
Any other additional work that is required on the quilt will be charged by an hourly rate of $40 per hour if repair or adjustment is needed.

Batting
Batting is a separate charge and is NOT included in the square inch price.
For example, if you have a 60" x 80" quilt, I would cut 70" of the batting to give me enough to quilt off the edges and into the batting for a nice finished quilting design.
70" equals 1.94 yards of batting @ $9.50/yd = $18.43 for batting
Queen size and smaller batting is $9.50 per yard
King Size (when the top is over 86") is $14.50 per yard
I stock 100% Cotton and 100% Bamboo batting.
As indicated above, I stitch off the edge of your quilt and into the batting, when I finish your quilt. Therefore, a "rollover" binding will not be advised as you will have additional pattern stitched into the backing past the edge of your quilt top. Stitching off the edge of your top give the finished quilt a very cohesive look. Quilts will need a separate binding attached rather tan a "rollover" binding using excess backing fabric.
Thread
I do not charge additional fees for thread or bobbins.
My personal style attempts to match or blend thread color with the lighter areas of your quilt. But this is YOUR quilt! Let me know if you have a preference on thread color.
Most quilts use the following colors: white, off white, pearl white, silver, light gray, medium gray, or dark gray. There are time when a color such as pink, yellow, blue, green are just right, so don't hesitate to select a more bold color option. I have MANY color options, so if you want a particular color used for your quilting, just let me know!
Shipping
Shipping your top and backing to me: I live in Shallowater, TX, USA, and would be happy to receive your top and backing by mail. I'd recommend sending your materials enclosed in some kind of sack or bag to protect against possible moisture in transit and then placed in a hard-sided cardboard box. Make sure the box is securely taped and labeled clearly.
Return shipping: I will send your quilt back to you in the manner described above via USPS Priority mail (using flat rate when possible/economical). Priority mail comes with $50 of insurance and a tracking number but please indicate on your intake form if you would like me to buy any additional insurance on your behalf. It's a great idea to insure your valuables against loss or damage while with the Postal Service, but I don't require it. UPS/FedEx is also available for return shipping if preferred. I will check pricing and contact you if one is a better option over the other regarding how much you will pay via return shipping.
Other Costs & Other Considerations
The state of Texas requires that I collect 8.25% tax on the service of quilting, binding, etc and any other other goods (such as batting). Therefore, your final invoice will reflect the 8.25% tax even if you live in a state that does not require this type of tax.
My home is smoke-free and shed-free pet home. Please note if your quilt has a strong odor form cigarette smoke, I will contact you about procedures that are required to be able to accommodate your project. Additional time/fees may be incurred. Thanks for your understanding.
Payment
After the work is complete, I will invoice you via email using Wave Payments. The invoice will include the amount for quilting, batting, binding (if requested) and any other charges and the shipping cost. Your package will be mailed after your invoice has been paid.
